Literary Fellow

Rochester, NY; March-May 2017

I work under Literary Director/Resident Dramaturg Jenni Werner and assist with a myriad of dramaturgical needs for the Geva Theatre Center. As Rochester’s premiere regional theatre, the Geva produces a mix of new works, classics, plays and musicals in its season, and offers a host of programs dedicated to audience enrichment, theatre education for local students, and community engagement. My responsibilities include:

-Reading and evaluating script submissions for the Regional Writers Showcase and Young Writers Showcase

-Writing program articles for season productions

-Creating and curating content (including original writing) for Geva Journal, Geva Theatre Center’s artistic blog (Read some of my favorite posts here.)

-Curating lobby materials (See my Sex With Strangers lobby setup here.)

-Assisting with the Hornets’ Nest reading series of contemporary plays investigating some of the most challenging and controversial questions of our time

-Observing and responding to rehearsals of season productions

-Presenting pre-show talks in the Prologue series

-Completing research and writing as needed to assist with Literary Department projects

Here are all the productions and programs I worked on at Geva:
